What You Need: (click to shop)
A purple light on Maxim’s charging station means that something needs a little attention or adjustment. The issue can be heat- or hardware-related.
Before you do anything, unplug the charging station and let it rest for about 30 minutes. Keep it unplugged while you go through the troubleshooting steps in this video, and only plug it back in once you’re done.
Trouble: Station overheat.
1. Unplug it and let it cool for 30 minutes.
2. Open the dust bag compartment, remove the dust bag, and check the air vents and air pathways to make sure they’re clear.
3. Clean out any dust or debris from the vents and bag area, then place the station in an open, well-ventilated spot away from heat sources or enclosed spaces.
Trouble: Clean water container pump.
1. Remove the clean water container, empty it, and wash it thoroughly, ensuring all obstacles are cleared.
2. Inspect the clean water refill head on the station for obstruction.
3. Turn the container around and inspect the clean water outlet for obstruction. Use a thick needle to gently clear and scrape away any deposits in and around the water outlet.
4. Inspect the clean water tube from end to end for blockage, bending, or disconnection.
5. Remove and open the clean water filter. Check for obstruction or calcification and wash to clean it.
6. Clear any debris or obstructions, then reseat the container securely.
*If you noticed any calcification, then you have hard water. Only use distilled water in the charging station.
Trouble: Dirty water container pump.
1. Remove the dirty water container, empty it, and wash it thoroughly, ensuring all obstacles are cleared.
2. Inspect the dirty water extraction heads on the station for obstruction.
3. Turn the container around and inspect the dirty water inlets for obstruction. Use a thick needle to gently clear and scrape away any deposits in and around the water inlets.
4. Inspect the dirty water float for blockage or jamming.
5. Clear any debris or obstructions, then reseat the container securely.
Trouble: Clean water container valve.
1. Inspect the clean water tube, water inlet, and clean water refill head around the clean water container.
2. Also remove the tray and inspect the clean water auto-refill for any blockages or signs of scaling or calcium buildup.
3. Use a thick needle to gently clear and scrape away any deposits in and around them removing all debris and obstructions.
4. Once the valve is clean, reseat the water container securely.
Trouble: Mop dryer.
1. Remove the tray from the station and wash it thoroughly to clear any debris that might be blocking the dryer fan.
2. Inspect the back of the station base and clear out any debris that may have accumulated.
3. If everything looks clear, reconnect the station and try running the dryer again.
