Cleaning Solution

Prepare Maxim’s charging station

Place the charging station in a central area with a strong Wi-Fi signal, on a hard, flat surface, 10 feet or more away from edges or stairs, and with plenty of space around it for easy docking.

Install the station ramp by pressing it into the front of the charging station. You will hear it click and lock into place.

Make sure to remove and properly dispose of any moisture packets that may have come in Maxim’s water containers.

To add cleaning solution, lift and remove the clean- and dirty-water containers to access the station’s cleaning-solution compartment. Fill the compartment with Maxim’s cleaning solution. Close the cap and place the dirty-water container back on the station, making sure the container is fully in place and there’s no gap at the front, sides, or back.

***To protect Maxim’s motors, only approved cleaning solutions should be used with Maxim. Compatible solutions can be found on the shop page of the bObsweep website or app.

To add clean water, pull the container’s latch straight up to open. Do not use force. The latch is fixed and does not flip or hinge open. Fill the clean-water container up to the maximum fill line. To protect the pipes and filter, use distilled water if you are in an area with hard water. Close the lid and press down to lock the latch securely in place. Before lifting, test to ensure the container is shut tight. Place the clean-water container back on the station, making sure the container is fully in place and there’s no gap at the front, sides, or back.

Your setup is complete! The charging station’s LED indicator shines blue to confirm it is ready for Maxim to dock.

If the light is yellow, check the containers’ placement and water level. If the light is red, check the dust bag and disposal vent.

Charge Maxim

To send Maxim to charge, press the charge button on Maxim or the bObsweep app. You can also charge Maxim manually. Place him in front of the charging station with his back to the station, then slide him forward until the metal charging plates make contact. Maxim’s battery indicator will start blinking slowly to confirm he’s charging. When fully charged, the battery indicator on Maxim will shine white. When Maxim is low on battery, the battery indicator blinks rapidly and he automatically returns to his charging station.

Auto-clean & self-empty intervals

You can adjust Maxim’s self-empty and refresh-cycle settings in the app under Settings — Cleaning Preferences — Auto-Clean and Self-Empty menus.
After Maxim completes a cleaning session, he automatically returns to his charging station, empties his dustbin, and begins the deep-clean cycle—rinsing his mops with heated water and detergent, then drying them. Drying the mops takes about 4–7 hours, depending on the drying mode selected in the app.

If Maxim’s water containers are not installed correctly, the clean-water container doesn’t have enough water, or the dirty-water container is too full, the indicator light on the charging station turns solid yellow.

Alternatively, if water pools in the station’s tray, the indicator light on the charging station blinks yellow, and Maxim will not be able to wash and dry his mops.

Address issues related to yellow light on the station quickly to avoid potential damage to Maxim or your floors.

It’s a good idea to lay down rags or towels to catch any liquid that may spill during the process.

Clean up and refill the charging station

The clean- and dirty-water containers both have over one gallon (4 Liters) of capacity. Monitor the clean- and dirty-water containers regularly, and empty and wash the dirty-water container frequently and before it fills up. If the dirty-water container is full, water can no longer be drained and will sit in the tray. As a result, Maxim will not be able to operate.

Check the charging station’s tray. If it contains water or debris, remove the tray and wash all parts. Wipe the bottom of the station to ensure it is clean and dry, and remove any debris from the dirty-water extraction pipe.

**When reinstalling the tray, make sure this water extraction pipe is sitting straight and perpendicular to the tray, not bent and that nothing is blocking it. If it’s misaligned, the tray cannot drain properly and you may see pump or dirty water trouble messages.

Change the dust bag

To change Maxim's dust bag, first pull the dust bag compartment panel towards you to remove it. Slide the dust bag out by pulling the tab to seal it. Throw away the used bag.

Now install a new bag by sliding it into the guide rails. Push the tab in to ensure a secure fit. Then attach the front panel back onto the station.

If everything is installed correctly, the station's indicator light will shine blue. Finally, send Maxim to dock or manually place him back on the station. Once docked, the LED indicator on the charging station will turn off.
