Cleaning Solution

To get Maxim ready for mopping, you first need to attach his mops and prepare his station.

Attaching the mop cloths

Use the striped microfiber mops on hardwood floors and for light mopping. Use the solid-color heavy-duty mops for extra scrubbing on textured floors like tile. Note that mop color may vary by batch.

1. Place the mop cloths over the mop attachments and secure them on the Velcro side.

2. Then, insert the mop attachments into the connection slots under Maxim. The magnets will connect and hold the mop attachments firmly in place.

Preparing the Self-Empty Charging Station

Add cleaning solution

Only certain cleaning solutions can be safely used with Maxim. Compatible solutions can be found on bobsweep.com/maxim-parts,or on the shop page of the bObsweep app. Each box of 500mL cleaning solution lasts for 3-6 months depending on Maxim’s cleaning frequency.

To add cleaning solution, lift and remove the clean and dirty water containers to access the station’s cleaning solution compartment. Fill the compartment with Maxim’s cleaning solution. Close the cap and place the dirty water container back on the station.

Add water

Make sure Maxim’s station has enough clean water. To fill the clean water container, remove the container and pull the latch straight up to open it. Do not use force. The latch is fixed and does not flip or hinge open. Fill the container with clean water up to the Maximum fill line. To protect the pipes and the filter, it is crucial to use distilled water if you are in an area with hard water or scaling. Close the lid and press down to lock the latch securely in place. Before lifting the container, test to ensure the container is shut tight and place it back on the station.

The station’s LED indicator shines blue to confirm it is ready for Maxim to dock. If the light is yellow, ensure that the clean water container is filled, and that both containers and the tray are properly seated on the station.

Cleaning modes

Maxim has two main cleaning modes.

1. For Vacuum and Mop, which is the default mode, press GO! on Maxim or in the app.
Maxim will vacuum and mop at the same time, lifting the mops automatically when he reaches carpets and rugs. In this mode, the mopping indicator in the app appears blue.

2. For Vacuum Only, press GO! twice on Maxim. Or in the app, tap the mop icon next to the GO! button to turn mopping off, then press GO! In this mode, the mopping indicator appears gray.

You can also adjust vacuum power and mop intensity in the app under Settings > Cleaning Preferences. Slide the Vacuum and Mop sliders to your preferred levels.

MopRefresh™

When Maxim finishes mopping, he will return to his charging station to self-empty and clean his mops. Depending on the auto-clean settings, Maxim also visits his charging station for a mid-cleaning session refresh. This is good for larger spaces and high-traffic homes that accumulate more dirt.

EdgeReach™

Maxim is equipped with extendable side brush and mop arms to help him reach deeper into corners and along walls. In order to enable them, turn on EdgeReach in the bObsweep app. Go to Settings > Cleaning Preferences > EdgeReach and activate the side brush, the mop arm, or both.

FloorSense™ technology

FloorSense™ technology uses real-time floor-type detection to recognize carpets and lift mops automatically.

To force mop an area Maxim detected as carpet, turn off FloorSense in the app under Settings > Cleaning Preferences > FloorSense.

Note that when FloorSense™ is off, Maxim will not detect rugs or carpets. If you prefer to keep FloorSense™ off but still have areas you don’t want mopped, add No-Mop Zones on the map.

Drawing NoMop Zones

1. Open the app and tap Map.
2. Tap the Edit icon to open the Map Edit Toolbox.
3. Select Add NoMop Zones.
4. Tap the map where you’d like to place a zone — a striped blue rectangle will appear.
5. Resize or move it as needed.
6. Tap the zone to Save or Delete.
7. You can create up to ten NoMop zones on a single map.
8. To delete, double-tap the zone and select Delete.
9. To edit a zone, tap it, adjust it, then tap again and hit Save.
10. To exit, tap Back to return to the toolbox.
