Brushes

Clean Maxim’s brushes about once a week to maintain optimal performance. Replace the brushes roughly once a year. Place Maxim on a soft surface to protect the SLAM LiDAR before flipping him over.

Side Brush

1. Grab the prongs with both hands and pull the side brush straight up to remove it. Wash or clean the side brush thoroughly using the cleaning tool. If hair is wrapped around the bristles or the base, cut it away with scissors.
2. Don’t forget to clean Maxim’s side brush arm and socket. If needed, use tweezers to remove any debris from crevices or hidden nooks.

Main Brush

1. To remove the main brush, first pinch the tabs on the main brush gate and lift the gate.
2. Tilt the main brush upward and pull it off the rod.
3. Use scissors or tweezers if needed to remove tangled hair or debris from the brush.
4. Wash and clean the main brush and all its components, including the main brush gate.
5. Wipe clean the entire main brush compartment on Maxim before reinstalling the brush.
6. To lock the main brush gate in place, slide the four tabs into their slots on the main brush compartment, then shut the gate until it clicks and locks.

Dustbin & Filters

Clean Maxim’s dustbin and filter about once every two weeks to maintain optimal performance. Replace the filter roughly every six months.

1. Remove Maxim’s magnetic top cover.
2. Press the dustbin release tabs inward to release and lift out the dustbin.
3. Lift the filter out from the left side and remove it from the dustbin.
4. Dust off the filter using the cleaning tool. For heavier debris, use a suction device like a handheld vacuum to clean the filter compartment.
Note: The filter compartment is fixed and does not open, and the filter is not washable.
5. Empty the contents of the dustbin and wipe the inside clean. You may hand wash the dustbin, but it is not dishwasher safe.
6. Wipe the dustbin compartment on Maxim; remove any debris from the vacuum inlet.
7. If wet, allow the dustbin to dry completely. Then reinsert the filter into the dustbin from the left side and press it down until it locks in place.
8. Place the dustbin back into Maxim and press down until it clicks and locks. Finally, position Maxim’s top cover back in place.

Sensors

Clean and wipe the sensors once every 2 weeks or when dusty, using a soft cotton cloth. This includes:

- Edge Sensors
- Wall Sensor
- Camera
- FloorSense sensor
- Charging plates
- Mop connectors
- Self empty outlet
- LiDAR sensor
- Bumper

When cleaning the LiDAR, avoid touching any internal parts or inserting objects into the sensor.

To clean the bumper, wipe along its entire surface, then gently press it from all sides to make sure it’s bounding freely and nothing is stuck underneath or in its crevices.

Front Wheel

Remove and clean the front wheel every 2 weeks.

1. To remove the front wheel, use a flat head screwdriver. Using the screwdriver for leverage, grip the wheel firmly and pull.
2. Clean the wheel and wheel socket thoroughly. When done, press and lock the wheel back onto the wheel assembly.

You may open and clean the wheel assembly if you notice debris buildup inside of it.

1. To do so, first remove the front wheel. Once the front wheel pops out, unscrew the wheel assembly.
2. Rotate the socket to remove the two screws on the left and right sides.
3. Use the screwdriver to pry out the wheel assembly.
4. Clean the wheel, wheel assembly, and wheel socket thoroughly.
5. When done, place the assembly back into Maxim and replace both screws.
6. Press and lock the wheel back onto the wheel assembly again.

Mops & Mop Attachments

Maxim auto-washes his mops after each clean. However, for best performance, remove the mops and mop attachments and sanitize them.

Mop attachments can be washed by hand. Remove any debris from the mop attachment connection points on Maxim and wipe the mop attachment compartment base on Maxim.

Replace Maxim’s mops every 3 to 6 months.

Battery

Maxim’s battery lifespan can vary depending on usage. For best performance, use Maxim routinely—batteries that sit unused for long periods tend to have a shorter life.

To replace the battery:

1. Power Maxim off.
2. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the 10 screws on the battery compartment.
3. Slide the battery out and unplug it.
4. Plug in the new battery and slide it back into place inside Maxim.
5. Reinstall all screws to secure the compartment.

Important Note: Do not throw old batteries in the trash or recycle. Lithium-ion batteries must be recycled safely through an appropriate recycling facility. Check your local recycling guidelines or electronic waste programs for proper disposal and recycling options.

Charging Station: Dust Bag & Air Pathway

Replace the dust bag roughly once every 1 to 3 months, depending on how often Maxim runs and how much debris he collects.

1. Open the front panel of the station.
2. Seal the full dust bag by pulling on the cardboard tab/card to close the opening so dust and debris cannot escape.
3. Remove and discard the full bag.
4. Inspect the dust bag compartment for any dust buildup, clumps of debris, or blockages that might restrict airflow. Wipe clean as needed.
5. Insert a new dust bag by sliding the cardboard card fully into the guide rails until it is seated firmly and aligned with the air pathway.

The station’s air pathway must remain clear to maintain strong suction and efficient self-emptying.
Unplug the station before working on this area.

1. Inspect the disposal vent and air pathway from top and bottom, end to end, checking for any dust buildup, clogs, or foreign objects.
2. Wipe and clean any residue, lint, or debris to ensure a smooth and unobstructed flow of air.

Charging Station: Dirty Water Container & Cleaning Solution

Dirty water sitting in the container is unhygienic and can lead to odors, bacteria, and residue buildup. The station’s dirty water container should be cleaned about once every 2 weeks – more frequently if Maxim mops often.

1. Make sure the container lid is shut tightly before moving it.
2. Lift the container out of the station using the top handle.
3. Pour out the contents into an appropriate drain.
4. Wash the inside with warm water, mild soap, and a soft sponge or cloth.
5. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
6. Allow the container to dry completely.
7. Close the lid and press down on the latch to lock it securely in place.
8. Place the container back into the station, sliding it all the way down so there is no gap at the front or back.

The station’s indicator light will turn blue (or remain off if Maxim is docked) if everything is correctly installed and there is enough clean water, confirming that the system is ready for use.

Refill the cleaning solution compartment roughly once every 1 to 4 months, depending on:

- How often Maxim mops each week
- The size of the environment Maxim cleans

Ramp & Charging Plates

Over time, dirt, hair, and fine debris can collect in the ramp’s crevices.
Remove the station’s ramp as needed.

1. Wash and wipe it clean, paying special attention to grooves and edges where debris can accumulate.
2. Dry it completely before reinstalling to prevent slippery surfaces or buildup.

To maintain consistent charging:

1. Reach inside the station to wipe the charging plates and the charging sensor area.
2. Remove any dust, film, or debris that may interfere with contact between Maxim and the station.

Water Circulation System & Tray

Keeping the tray and water circulation system clean helps maintain hygiene and ensures reliable operation of the station. Remove and clean the tray about once every 2 weeks – more frequently if Maxim mops often.

1. Lift the tray from the station using the front tab and remove it completely. The tray consists of three pieces:
- The mop washing system : first remove this part. Hold the middle and lift to remove. Do not move the mop scraping arms or forcefully rotate them as they will break.
- The drain: To lift the drain, pinch the tab inward and lift the drain out.
- The base
2. Wash each piece separately with mild soap, and warm water. Use a soft brush or sponge to clean around edges, channels, and any areas where residue may accumulate.
3. Rinse thoroughly and allow all parts to dry completely before reassembly.
4. Place the drain over its slot and press to click and lock in place.
5. Insert the two tabs on top of the mop washing system into the slot on the base to sit in place.
6. Next, wipe the inner bottom of the charging station.
7. Then, place the assembled tray back in place.
8. Check to confirm that the dirty water extraction pipe is properly positioned, standing upright inside the tray and perpendicular to the bottom of the station. If it’s tucked or hidden behind the tray, place your finger behind it to gently bring the pipe onto the tray, making sure the dirty water extraction pipe sits straight inside the drain and is not bent or misaligned.

A properly cleaned and assembled station helps Maxim empty, wash, and dry reliably—and keeps your floors and water system fresher over time.
